Call for Assistant Researchers
Women’s Right Center (WRC) seeks two part-time assistant researchers to join our research team in conducting research involving the costing of services related to gender-based violence in Montenegro and the Western Balkans. The research aims to inform specific recommendations for respective government bodies’ budgets for actual costs related to providing services towards addressing gender-based violence, in accordance with the Istanbul Convention. This part-time position is foreseen to last six months starting on 1 April 2025, two days per month.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the process of qualitative and quantitative research to estimate the costs of providing services to address gender-based violence and the existing state budget and expenditures used to for such services and NGO funding, as part of the WRC and regional research team.
- Assist in reviewing and contributing to the finalization of the existing draft methodology based on national specificities, together with other members of the research team
- Assist in reviewing and analysing existing literature and data
- Assist in organizing interviews, conducting interviews, taking notes and analysing interview findings
- Involvement in the process of preparing the first draft of the report, using the attached template
- Assist in revising and finalizing the report based on feedback from the principal investigator and project coordinator
Applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications, which should be highlighted in their CVs and motivation letters:
- Basic understanding of terminology and concepts relating to gender equality
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- At least one year research experience, including experience leading interviews
- Basic mathematical and quantitative analysis skills
- Knowledge and understanding of state budgets
Encouraged but not required skills that should be highlighted in CVs include:
- Any education in economics, social and/or gender studies
- Knowledge and experience with statistics
- Knowledge related to gender-responsive budgeting, particularly the Supplementary Framework for Assessing Gender Responsive Public Financial Management and/or the Sustainable Development Goals 5.c.1. indicator guidance
