PROJECT BALKANS ACT (AGAINST CRIME OF TRAFFICKING) NOW! BAN III, 2018-2021

The NGO Women's Rights Center is a partner in the third phase of the Balkans ACT (Against Crime of Trafficking) NOW! – BAN III. BAN III is a continuation of the previous two BAN phases that were also financially supported by the EU through the Partnership Program. As before, the project promoter is NGO Astra from Belgrade, and in addition to the Women's Rights Center, the partners are the project is: Center for Legal Civic Initiatives from Albania, Emmaus from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Open Gate – La Strada from Macedonia and the Netherlands Helsinki Committee. The BAN III project began in March 2018 and will run until the end of 2021.

BAN III aims to implement the Manual for Monitoring and Evaluation of Suppression Policies trafficking in human beings we developed in the previous phase, which is a framework for monitoring and an evaluation that will allow them to gather evidence and analyze the quality of laws, procedures and practices in the field of combating trafficking in human beings and protecting victims.

The idea is to set up a working group by the end of 2018 to begin with in 2019 adapting the Monitoring tool to the institutions. Monitoring national policies for combating trafficking in human beings and protecting victims on the basis of detailed and clear indicators will make it possible to give all interested parties accurate and reliable estimates of the situation in their countries and take appropriate measures.

BAN III also aims to improve the involvement of civil sector organizations in the processes decision making and policy development as well as improving the quality of service provided to victims.
