Memorandum of understanding between Supreme Court and NGO Women’s Rights Center
With the aim of contributing to better protection of women against violence and family violence, combating discrimination of women and promoting equality between women and men, today we signed a Memorandum of cooperation with the Supreme Court of Montenegro.
President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro Vesna Medenica and executive director of NGO Women’s Rights Center Maja Raičević, signed today the Memorandum of cooperation.
The purpose of Memorandum was exchanging the information and cooperation of Supreme Court and Women’s Rights Center on implementation of projects and activities in the area of protection of women against violence and family violence, combating discrimination of women and promotion of equality between women and men.
With this cooperation, WRC will realize monitoring activities of court proceedings in the area of family violence and violence against women as well as human trafficking, with full respect of independency of court system, judicial system and Law on protection of personal information.
Special attention will be dedicated to organizing training programs with the aim of improving capacities of judges for implementing standards for combating violence against women and family violence, particularly Convention of Council of Europe on combating violence against women and family violence.
